# Review of the two highlighted components

The screenshot arrows identify D1 (SMAJ5.0A-13-F, C87074) and U1 (RT9742SNGV, C3235509). Both existed in the tsCircuit schematic, PCB and BOM. They previously used generic KiCad package models rather than imported catalogue definitions.

`tsci search --jlcpcb --json` found the exact selected MPN/LCSC pair for both. `tsci search --tscircuit` returned no matching registry packages, so `tsci import --jlcpcb --download --use-exact-footprint` was used. The resulting local component definitions are now instantiated by the main circuit. Downloaded source assets are retained under `imports/`.

The uniform grey appearance was a separate material-loader incompatibility. [tsCircuit’s OBJ loader](https://github.com/tscircuit/3d-viewer/blob/main/src/hooks/use-global-obj-loader.ts) reads embedded `newmtl`/`endmtl` blocks and does not fetch a separate MTL URL. The generic model preparation now supplies those blocks. All material references are checked by the validator.

The imported pads were compared before use. U1’s imported footprint has pin 1 lower-right and a smaller land pattern; our reviewed footprint has pin 1 upper-left and elongated lands. Its CAD offset is therefore rotated an additional 180 degrees. D1 has pin 1 cathode on the left in both definitions, with slightly different pad sizes. Both retain the reviewed footprints and existing symbols. No pads, routes, holes, vias, clearances or net assignments were changed.

The before/after circuit JSON comparison found all **1,221 PCB records exactly equal**. The complete 15-component BOM is retained. This visual/import correction does not close the documented fabrication-release requirements. The HDMI model remains a proxy and the other generic package models remain documented.
