# SmartKnob Base PCB in tscircuit
Editable recreation of Scott Bezek's SmartKnob View Base board, derived from upstream commit `340eed936d04da718e66cbb89613ee2fdff4bf26` ([source](https://github.com/scottbez1/smartknob)). This release contains one circuit entrypoint, `index.circuit.tsx`, with 101 footprint instances. The companion board is published separately as [`hrithik18k/smartknob-screen`](https://tscircuit.com/hrithik18k/smartknob-screen).
Run `bun install` and `tsci build index.circuit.tsx --pcb-png` to generate circuit JSON and a preview. The original pad and copper geometry is carried in `data/`; `smartknob-board.tsx` renders it with JLCPCB imports where available. Routing is disabled to preserve the reference copper.
The base LED placement checker uses axis-aligned footprint bounds and falsely reports six LEDs inside angled flexure cutouts. The board-level placement check is suppressed in this source. An independent polygon audit finds zero physical LED-body overlap with the cutouts; pad geometry, source nets, and routes were separately audited. See `VALIDATION.md` for details. Automatic placement checks are therefore unavailable for this release. Neither board has been fabricated or hardware-tested from this conversion.
