# tscircuit findings

These are the reproducible user-facing tool behaviors encountered on the final board. The autorouter itself completed successfully and is not listed as a failure.

1. **Imported custom symbol omits its reference text.** `tsci import C5123566 --jlcpcb --use-exact-footprint` generated a custom display symbol without a `{REFDES}` text element. Every build therefore reports `U9 is missing schematic reference designator text`, although all 25 pin numbers and aliases render. The generated import was left unchanged as requested. Likely owner: [`tscircuit/cli`](https://github.com/tscircuit/cli) import pipeline; the warning is emitted by [`tscircuit/checks`](https://github.com/tscircuit/checks).

2. **Autoroute-path serialization cannot uniquely select one imported display port.** After a successful route or replay, core reports `PCB port selector is not unique: .U9 > port.pin10` while trying to save reusable path selectors. The routed Circuit JSON still contains the full route and passes connectivity and Gerber checks. Owner: [`tscircuit/core`](https://github.com/tscircuit/core).

3. **JLC pick-and-place supplier rotations cannot be machine-verified.** Gerber export reports `missing_supplier_pin1_location` for the exact imported JLC parts and falls back to their PCB rotations. The GLB and top assembly drawing were visually reviewed, and the BOM/placement data are complete, but JLCPCB's rendered assembly preview still needs the normal polarized-part orientation review before ordering. Warning owner: [`tscircuit/circuit-json-to-pnp-csv`](https://github.com/tscircuit/circuit-json-to-pnp-csv); missing metadata originates in the import/build path.

No other tscircuit issue was needed to complete the board. The final circuit has zero PCB errors, zero routing errors, zero connectivity failures, and no Gerber shorts.
