# External thermal gate removal — local v1.0.31

Removed U_THERM_GATE (SN74LVC1G08DBVR), C_THERM_GATE (100 nF) and R_ENABLE_PD (100 kΩ). Q_PD_ENABLE drain now connects directly to DRV8825 nSLEEP. The existing R_SLEEP_PD (100 kΩ) and R_MCU_ENABLE_PD (100 kΩ) remain for default-off behavior. The USB-PD enable transistor is retained.

TMP102, its bypass capacitor and all three pull-ups remain. ALERT connects to GPIO24 only; it has no direct hardware shutdown path. Application software decides whether and how to respond to board temperature. No firmware is included. The DRV8825’s internal die-temperature protection remains part of the IC.

Surviving component placements are unchanged. Existing routes are mapped by component/pin identity; redundant leaf branches are removed and paths through removed pads are joined with continuous copper. Ground pours are regenerated and floating pour-only fragments removed using the existing geometry-guarded selection. Ten in-pad driver vias and six perimeter vias remain.
