A Seeed XIAO ESP32-C3 carrier board interfaces 3.3V PWM outputs to an ESC and steering servo, with 220Ω series/100kΩ pulldown resistors, SS14 5V BEC/USB isolation, and power filtering capacitors.

# Validation record — RC car ESC carrier

## Uniform trace-width update (2026-10-25)

Changed the GND/BEC5V trace width from 1 mm to 0.3 mm to match the other traces. Rebuilt from TSX with tscircuit's native autorouter; no manual PCB routes or JSON copper edits were used. All 293 routed wire records have width 0.3 mm. Component placement and logical connectivity were retained.

Checks after this change: netlist 0 errors/0 warnings; schematic placement exit 0; PCB placement 0 errors/0 warnings; routed build passed; generated Circuit JSON contains no error records; Gerber-derived shorts check passed on both layers. PCB PNG inspected. The existing branched-route save warning still occurs; the routed output is present in `dist/index/circuit.json`.

The earlier KiCad export audit in the sibling `rc-car-kicad-export-audit` directory describes the pre-update board and remains historical evidence.

## Earlier validation

2026-10-25, Windows, Bun 1.3.14. Project tscircuit 0.0.3016, CLI 0.1.2408, core 0.0.2203. Use bun.lock for the full dependency graph.

| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| TypeScript | Pass, no diagnostics |
| Netlist | 0 errors, 0 warnings |
| Schematic placement | No reported placement findings after correcting rotations and disabling automatic relayout |
| PCB placement | No placement issues; DRC 0 errors, 0 warnings |
| Routed build | Pass |
| Final Circuit JSON | No *_error or *_warning records |
| Gerber-derived shorts, both layers | No shorts detected |
| Visual inspection | PCB and schematic PNGs inspected; blank-sheet intermediate corrected before publication |
| Routing difficulty | Analysis completed; see evidence/routing-difficulty.log |
| Physical hardware / firmware | Not tested; firmware contract in README |

Known tool limitation: saving branched autorouting paths back to source emits a warning. The routed Circuit JSON is retained. Rebuilds must be rechecked; a successful build is not by itself manufacturing approval.

Evidence files are in evidence/. The final source has 11 electrical component records, 7 logical nets and four mounting holes. The XIAO module occupies one component record but is assembled into two socket headers. The module's internal regulator and radio are not reimplemented on the carrier.

No fabrication order was placed. Raw battery voltage must not be connected to the board's regulated 5 V input. ESC and servo model-specific signal thresholds, neutral/arming behavior, stall current, power integrity and thermal performance remain bench-validation items.
